My previous Speedy, I bought from an AD (authorized dealer). Is there any benefit to buying from a boutique vs buying from an AD? I met a cool guy in a boutique that is 6 hours away from me this summer. I purchased a Speedmaster Professional, brand new, from an Omega dealer in the DC metro area. I simply made a phone call and a couple of days later the watch was delivered to me at 00 off the retail price. In fact, I specified that the watch remain packaged as it was from the manufacturer.
I bought one for 00 duty free tax free in the Bahamas from Little Switzerland who is a certified Omega Dealer. They also have The Key West Florida store which offers the same prices as the Caribbean stores. My Speedmaster was 00 US from omega and was only 00 from Little Switzerland. Its worth giving them a call.
Oh and £375 for a new steel bracelet because after 5 years the pins are falling out and according to Omega UK Service Centre "cannot be repaired". Words like barrel, over and got you spring to mind. No one will work for free and especially in the luxury goods world of watches, they will charge a premium for what many consider an expensive hobby.
